This week, Makerere University College of Health Sciences (CHS) hosted a delegation from Western University, Ontario, Canada led by President and Vice-Chancellor, Alan Shepard including Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Lily Cho, Associate Vice-President Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Opiyo Oloya and Dean, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, John Yoo.
The purpose of their visit was to Present the Research Portfolio & Opportunities for Collaboration, at Makerere University. In their week-long visit they will be meeting different groups in the university set-up. They have already met with the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, the Principal of College of Health Science and the Deans at CHS, Acting Executive Director Mulago National Referral Hospital, Dr. Rosemary Byanyima.
The session has highlighted the work CHS is undertaking in research, teaching and innovation and possible areas of collaboration with Western University as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities.
