Alliance for Global Health and Science (Center for Emerging and Neglected Diseases) and Makerere University are organizing several capacity-building Summer Workshops from July 24th to August 4th, 2017. The workshops include different topics such as bioinformatics, tissue culture, protein purification, TB genetics and grant writing.
The Scientific Grant Writing Workshop is taking place form July 24th to 28th and was organized in conjunction with Sustainable Sciences Institute (SSI) whose mission is to support scientist and public health communities globally. The grant workshop is being taught to 20 scientist by two Instructors form SSI: Dr. Stephen Popper and Dr. Maria E Penaranda. The SS workshop provide one-on-one tutoring from our instructors with experience in grant-writing and grant submission. We also count with volunteers on line willing to help edit the proposals from the participants in real time. By the end of each workshop, students are expected to have a solid first draft of a grant proposal ready for submission.
